Physical Activity Prescription Organization

   At 14:00 on 24 May 2014 (Swedish time), in Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, the ceremony on signing Letter of Intent (LOI) on physical activity project occurred among Dinh Tien Hoang Institute of Medicine (DTHIM), Molecular Exercise Physiology Research group - Karolinska Institutet (KI) and Professional Associations for Physical Activity, Sweden (YFA). Representatives of DTHIM included Doctor Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong and Doctor Ha Viet Trung and that of KI and YFA was Profesor Carl Johan Sundberg.

    Referring to the LOI, the parties agreed to cooperate in the development of training course on physical activity prescription (PAP) for both physician and general public that can meet international standards and actively join into the network of physical activity & health in Vietnam and further, spread to Asian countries in need.

   In the first phase, DTHIM will build up professional leadership (individuals and organizations/institutions) in physical activity prescription in Vietnam and Asia. DTHIM will play the pivot role in coordinating all the activities related to training course in Vietnam and Asia during this phase along with the active support from KI & YFA. While in the second phase: an independent organization on physical activity prescription will be born in Asia called IPAPO.org as DTHIM will function as active member of this network in Vietnam and Asia together with other institution/organization in the region.

    After this signing ceremony, Dr. Ha Viet Trung said that “the project will need a lot of efforts from all parties, but this project is essential for Vietnam”.
